Custom Aerospace Machine has purchased and integrated a second MAZAK 630 5X machining center, in order to keep in line with the company mandated vision of “Redundant Systems”. This new unit increases the CAM’s overall capacity of five-axis machining by 25% and with its 18,000 rpm Spindle, increases machining feed rates by 50%. It can accommodate multiple job setups due to the 80 tool carousel that accompanies it. Equipped with In-machine probing and inspection software, allowing CAM to measure parts “as they are machined” and prior to their removal from the work envelope.
This acquisition increased CAM’S capability and work envelope for production of high tolerance five-axis requirements. This High-Speed machining center is capable of machining parts as large as 31″x23″x20″ or 24” diameter. With its 18,000 rpm Spindle and high resolution 0.00005″ motion encoders this machining center can produce highly accurate machined parts in Five-Axis Simultaneous motion for large size part requirements.
