Custom Aerospace Machine is utilizing (2) newly purchased ROBODRILL HIGH SPEED MACHINING CENTERS. These highly accurate work cells are currently producing parts at twice the rates of what was achieved prior to their implementation. With 24,000rpm spindles, high speed smoothing and look ahead options, on machine probing for accurate measuring, and lights out operation, CAM is proving itself to be a leader in innovation implementation.
CAM’s focus has been evolving towards high volume, aluminum heat sink chassis and electronic box and cover production. CAM has introduced these work centers as a key element to remaining competitive in the aerospace industry of the next 5 years. CAM is positioning itself to be the premiere machine shop in Brevard County and is consistently being sought out by major and minor aerospace contractors, that are eager to approve a well-qualified and equipped supplier.
This acquisition increases CAM’S capacity by 50% to machine high quantities of aluminum chassis, heat sinks, covers, boxes, or any other small components. These High Speed machining centers are capable of machining parts as large as 27″x16″x10″ or 15” diameter. With its 24,000 rpm Spindle, high speed smoothing and look ahead options, these machining centers can produce highly accurate machined parts at rates that are unprecedented to CAM previously. This acquisition brings CAM’s total 3 axis Machining Center inventory to 8 units with a total arsenal of multi-axis machining centers to (12) units.
